Profile Switching

Published 2026-09-06

Profile switching lets someone move between distinct profiles within a single shared account without a full login each time, which is what makes a household account practical to use day to day rather than requiring separate credentials for every member. The convenience depends entirely on each profile's own data and settings staying genuinely separated from the others' — a profile switch that's fast and easy is only a benefit if it doesn't also make it just as easy to see or affect a different profile's own information.

A shared account with weak boundaries between its profiles ends up functionally equivalent to no separation at all, just with a friendlier interface layered on top suggesting distinctions that aren't actually enforced underneath.
