Free/Busy Visibility
Free/busy visibility reveals only whether a given block of time is occupied or available, without exposing what the underlying event actually is, who else is involved, or any other detail about it. This is a meaningfully narrower grant than full calendar access, and it's what makes cross-organization scheduling practical at all — someone can find a mutually available time without either side needing to expose the substance of everything on their calendar to the other.
Getting the boundary right requires deliberately separating these two levels of access rather than treating calendar sharing as one all-or-nothing grant: a system that only offers 'see nothing' or 'see everything' forces a choice between scheduling friction and over-exposure, when the narrower free/busy level is what most cross-boundary scheduling actually needs.
